The paint on your home deteriorates with age, due to the Florida sun and other external forces. Expect to re-paint your home every 7-10 years. The care of your home is YOUR responsibility. Homes with faded or chipping paint must be re-painted. Homeowners failing to properly-maintain their home will be subject to fining, until the condition is corrected.
Prior to commencing any re-painting, there are a number of steps the homeowner must follow to assure compliance with the community’s rules and regulations. Listed below are the basic steps a homeowner should follow:
- Homeowner may paint the home on their own or utilize a licensed contractor.
- Homeowner must submit an online ACB form and secure painting project approval, prior to painting.
- Approved base, trim, and front door colors are listed in this section. HOA Paint Books are no longer maintained or kept at the gate.
- Base colors are for the body of the house and the garage door. (See Garage door note below).
- Trim colors are for the fascia boards, raised areas around windows and doors, including front door (unless optional Front Door Color is selected).
- Front Door Colors are optional. They are used for the front door only and require ACB approval
- Garage door should be painted in the house’s Base Color. If homeowner wishes to paint the garage door in a matching Trim Color, ACB approval must be secured.
- Secure sample bottles of the colors you select from your preferred retailer, then apply a 12″x12″ paint swatch of each selected color on the front of the residence prior to submitting the ACB form.
Failure to follow these steps may result in fining and possible legal action to ensure HOA rules have been followed.
